BWL(Betriebswirtschaftslehre)是企业经济学，和国民经济学（Volkswirtschaftslehre)相对，Business administration是指工商管理，只是企业经济学的一个分支，比如说MBA是master of business administration,特指工商管理硕士，并不是所有的企业经济学硕士都能被称为MBA.所以BWL应该是Business economics,或Business Studies(leo version).

By the way, business economics, also called managerial economics, is actually a sub-discipline in economics (VWL). It is concerned about business organization, management and strategy on a theoretical or conceptual basis.; b2 ^% K$ s. N0 L& u# `; E- J
+ h; W& I' q3 a9 g8 Z) ?! u
In contrast, business administration is practical, oriented to the business practice. Accounting, corporate finance, marketing, operation, human resource management, and management information system etc belong to this spectrum.

Very imformative. Thx for sharing. Seems you've done a lot of homework here.. A: i1 r( }! W
You're right. German educational system is quite different from American and English ones, so it can be tricky to match the majors. Sometimes you can't just simply translate the name of a german major into English literally. You have to first of all learn about the focal points of this major and then decide which English counterpart it matches.

MM,翻译成 Administration是对的，但是我看很多职位招聘都写的是 Business Management，应该也可以用的。。。

其实现在翻译多了，比如原汁原味的Business Administration或者International Management等等都是。。。。。。。现在德国教育也开始搞标题党了，换汤不换药~~~
